UPDATE: We’ve relocated our Silver Spring office across the street onto Randolph Road.

First Orthodontic Visit at The Silver Spring Orthodontist

We’re excited to welcome you to your new orthodontic home at The Silver Spring Orthodontist! From the moment you walk through our doors, our friendly team will be here to make your experience smooth, comfortable, and informative. When you arrive, simply check in with our front desk team, and we’ll take it from there.

During your first visit, Dr. Jean Hong will complete a detailed orthodontic exam and discuss their findings one-on-one with you or your child, answering all your questions and outlining what to expect.

What Happens During Your Initial Orthodontic Consultation?

Your first visit is designed to answer the most important questions about your orthodontic needs. We’ll help you understand:

  • Is treatment needed now or at a later time?

  • What type of treatment is recommended?

  • How long will the treatment take?

  • What will the treatment cost?

  • What are the available payment options?

We encourage you to bring any questions you may have. Our goal is to ensure you feel confident and informed about the next steps in your orthodontic journey.

If treatment is recommended, we may begin gathering diagnostic records during this same appointment, saving you time and helping us plan the best path forward.

Understanding Your Diagnostic Records

If orthodontic treatment is needed, we’ll collect detailed diagnostic records. These records help Dr. Hong create a personalized treatment plan just for you.

Your records may include:

  • Digital scans or impressions to create study models of your teeth

  • Panoramic and cephalometric X-rays to assess jaw alignment and growth

  • Photographs of your teeth and occlusion

These records ensure your treatment is as accurate and effective as possible.

What to Bring to Your First Visit

To help us serve you efficiently, please bring:

  • Any referral from your dentist

  • Any x-rays taken within the past 12 months

  • Your orthodontic insurance card (if applicable)

Providing this information allows us to give you a clear cost estimate and discuss your payment options at the visit.

Transparent and Flexible Orthodontic Costs

We believe everyone deserves access to high-quality orthodontic care. During your first visit, our treatment coordinator will review:

  • The total estimated cost of treatment

  • Payment options that match your budget

  • How your insurance benefits may apply

We proudly accept most major insurance plans and offer flexible payment plans to make care more affordable.

What’s Included in My Orthodontic Investment?

Your investment includes everything you need for a successful outcome:

  • Comprehensive records and diagnostic imaging

  • All appliances, procedures, and appointments during active treatment

  • One set of final retainers for comprehensive (Phase II) treatment cases

Note: Additional fees may apply for lost or broken appliances or retainers.

What’s Not Included?
