Dr. Sophie Moon was born in Seoul, South Korea, and moved to Washington, DC in 2001.
Education
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with honors from George Washington University in 2011. She continued to work in mental health for several years before pursuing a career in dentistry. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2020 (Go Blue!). She is a recipient of the 2018 American Association for Dental Research (AADR) Student Research Fellowship Award and a member of the Chi Chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) Dental Honor Society. She earned her Master of Science in Oral Sciences and Advanced Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2023.
Outside The Office
During her free time, Dr. Moon enjoys exploring Washington, DC via bike share and going on road trips to nearby cities with her husband. She is always looking for a new adventure and taking recommendations!
